This DIY VIDEO course challenges you to pick up your camera and shoot! Whether you are interested in making promotional videos for your small business or spicing up your home videos with a bit of movie-making flair.

With an ever-increasing variety of low-cost technologies available, making a film is now easier than ever.

Anybody can just ‘push record’ on their smartphones, but FTI’s DIY VIDEOS workshop shares techniques for re-tasking household items to make your videos and posts look and feel more professional.

This course is suitable for beginners, and will be delivered by film-maker and professional educator Matt De Byl.

Matt will showcase tricks of the trade that will help participants learn or brush up on technical skills to get their videos up to scratch, noticed and shared.

This course will cover the traditional steps taken to make a film including;

> Pre-Production: Concept, scripting, planning and storyboarding

> Production: Recording sound  and video, lighting techniques; shot compositions and common camera settings to help you take your camera beyond auto-mode.

> Post Production: Editing using freely downloadable editing software (HitFilm 4 Express); how to import, cut, sync and export media. Sourcing and using stock videos, images and music (legally) and adding moving titles and narration.

>Sharing: Tips for posting your videos to social media sites, how to share, promote and drive traffic to your website.
