Will Hello, It’s Freo, the sequel to internet sensation, This is Perth, take out the honours against original short film, The Dog And The Stick, or will Dr Freo reign supreme?

Come see some amazing local, national and international films battle it out for $8,500 in prizes courtesy of the City of Fremantle and Bendigo Bank – Fremantle Community Branch.

Brilliant (Documentary, Canada)

Over one rollicking weekend in the Rocky Mountain foothills, Barry challenges everyone around him with his cheeky English wit. Blinded in a horrific workplace accident, he survived years of depression and isolation to find new joy in nature and outdoor sports. From one adventure to the next, Barry pushes the limits of his world with contagious delight and unfailing humour.

The Dog And The Stick (Documentary, Fremantle)

The Dog and The Stick is an observational documentary for the whole family. In a disused amphitheatre in Fremantle’s Booyeembara Park, two year old Alfie looks for ways to stop his dog from getting a stick… that is, until the dog can’t get the stick.

The Blue Balloon (Drama, Canada)

A stray blue balloon is spotted at the town square in Aix -En-Provence, belonging to no one, yet, seeking to belong – as perhaps we all are. In a way, we are not much different from the balloon, simply in need to love and to be loved. This short film is filled with symbolic imagery, and conveys a universal story of a blue balloon, in search of a friend… and love!
