It’s Just Gary, the latest work from Perth’s award winning filmmakers Vincenzo Perrella and Dan Osborn will premiere at the Perth launch of innovative short film label, Future Shorts.
The sharp edged comedy was funded through the FTI and ScreenWest LINK initiative and tells the story of a nobody who comes face to face with the absurd nature of the cult of celebrity.
Produced by Kate Bailey, It’s Just Gary features WA’s hottest comic talent, including Damon Lockwood, national improv comedy champions Glenn Hall and Jimmy James Eaton, and local favourite Andrea Gibbs, as well as cameos from venerable acting stalwarts Bill McCluskey and Peter Holland.
It’s Just Gary will screen with Colours, a program direct from London that will take viewers on a tour around the globe, from China to South Africa and beyond.
The expanded cinema extravaganza will also include the electronic pop revelry of local act Brash and Sassy as well as roaming interactive performance artists.
The event will herald the beginning of monthly Future Shorts screenings around the city, with screenings scheduled for Melbourne and Sydney later in the year.
