On Saturday 6th February My Uncle Bluey Writer/Director Britt Arthur & Producer James Grandison travelled to Onslow in the North West of WA to screen the film for the local community as a way of saying ‘thank you’ to the people that had helped to make the film possible.
It was a tremendously successful screening with many of the people who took part in the film attending as well as a large portion of the local community joining in for a great night at the Onslow town hall.
Britt’s father Eric Arthur, who plays a major role in the documentary, also attended the screening and was part of a joyous reunion with many people who were friends with his brother ‘Bluey’.
The night was a free event organised by the film’s makers and Sue Lennard at the Shire of Ashburton.
My Uncle Bluey is screening this Friday the 5th of March at Camelot Outdoor Cinema and next Friday the 12th of March at Sun Theatre in Broome as part of the 2010 Flickerfest National Tour.
The film will also screen in competition at The 2010 Heart of Gold International Film Festival on Friday 12th March in Gympie, QLD and in competition at the Australian Short Film Festival at the Randwick Ritz Cinema this Sunday March 7th.
My Uncle Bluey was made with the assistance of Link an initiative funded by ScreenWest and managed by FTI to promote short film production in Western Australia.
