Heart of Gold in FTI Funded Films

Deadly Yarns film My Nan and the Yandi and LINK funded film My Uncle Bluey have both been selected for The Heart of Gold International Film Festival held in Gympie, 11-14 March 2010.

The Heart of Gold International Film Festival encourages films that are entertaining, uplifting, thought-provoking and express a positive view of the world and humanity.

Directed by Denise Groves and produced by Jennifer Gherardi of Jag Films My Nan and the Yandi tells the story of a granddaughter’s love for her grandmother and the important role a humble piece of tin played in her family’s story.

My Uncle Bluey, written and directed by Britt Arthur and produced by James Grandison, has been well received world wide with screenings at IDFA, Mumbai IFF and the Pacific International Documentary Film Festival 2010 in Tahiti, French Polynesia among many.

Deadly Yarns is a joint Initiative of ScreenWest, ABC Television and FTI designed to showcase the work of Indigenous writers, directors and producers through the production of 5-minute films.

The LINK initiative is funded by ScreenWest and managed by FTI to to develop creative teams, filmmaking skills, and the financial and project management skills required of early career independent filmmakers within professional industry standards.

FTI congratulates the filmmakers on their selection for the festival.
