The WA Animation Association, WAnimate, honoured Colin South, Producer at Animation Works (Media World) with the second Tom Lubin Award on Thursday 10 December at the association’s Annual Gerneral Meeting.
Colin has supported West Australian animation bringing three animated series to the state. He maintains an active role in the training and professional development of local animators.
The award (affectionately known as the Loobie, as is the Numbat character in WAnimate’s logo) honours an individual who has contributed to the development and promotion of West Australian animation. Its namesake, Tom Lubin, made a huge contribution to the development of animation in WA, especially through training and professional development.
The award was presented to members of the Dogstar Series 2 crew. Colin was unable to attend but expressed his delight at receiving the award.
The recipient of the inaugural Tom Lubin award was Greg Bruyer.
