Here’s a great chance to secure your spot at the 2008 SPAAfringe conference in Sydney.

The Film & Television Institute WA as part of Screen Development Australia, is offering a chance to attend the conference by pitching your ideas for a screen production.

The competition is open to all program formats – film, television, animation and digital media. You could present an idea for a television show, a documentary, a series, a film, a mobile phone presentation or an animation, anything that is presented on a screen qualifies.

STAGE ONE: STAND UP AND PITCH SEMINAR
Get ready for the SDA National Pitch by coming along to this engaging seminar that will provide advice on how to deliver a ‘stand up’ pitch.

Build your knowledge on how to break your idea down into a simple form that it easy to communicate. Find out the best tips on how to speak confidently in public and hear tips from the experts.

STAGE TWO: THE WA PITCH
Wednesday August 20 – The Velvet Lounge, Mount Lawley, 6.30pm

Each person (or team) will have the opportunity to make a three-minute pitch in front of a panel of industry professionals and an audience. The pitch competition is only open to FTI members.

Each pitch will be followed by feedback from the panel and the winner will be announced on the night.

THE PRIZE: The winner of the State Pitch Competition will win the following:

• Complimentary SPAA Fringe conference pass and be the WA representative at the SPAA Fringe National Pitch.
• Return flights to Sydney & Accommodation costs (up to the value of $1250)
• The opportunity to represent WA in the pitching competition

THE SDA NATIONAL PITCHING COMPETITION:
Representatives from each Screen Development Australia organisation will battle it out in a pitching competition at SPAA Fringe [October 24, 25]. Presenting to a panel of judges, they will be pitching for the $2000 cash prize and a major industry prize.
