Alex Goddard film screens around the world

‘Untitled / The Trees’, the short 11 minute film directed by Alex Goddard will be included in the short film market the Clermont Ferried Festival in France.

This short film has both screened and been accepted into many festivals across the world.

It had it’s national premiere last year at the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Film Festival in March and it’s international premiere at the 19th New York Gay and Lesbian film Festival (Newfest) in June 2007. Since then it has shown at the 12th Madrid Gay and Lesbian Film festival (Lesgai cinemad), 26th Chicago Reeling Gay and Lesbian Film festival and a cinematheque screening at the infamous Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) theatre in New York.

Last years Australian Screen Sound Guild Awards also earned the film a nomination. The fiolm includes music from bands Cut Copy (Modular Records) and Drew Daniels from The Soft Pink Truth.

‘Untitled / The Trees’ focusses on three school students as they perform in a school drama performance, but a more realistic account of their relationship can be seen as they party in a cheap motel cabin.

Other than direct short films, Alex Goddard, 24, also produces Oystervision – an online tv show commissioned through Myspace Australia and Oyster Magazine. He also creates custom made video installations for fashion clients such as Josh Goot, Wayne Cooper, Romance Was Born to name a few.

His film for Becca cosmetics (a collaboration between him and renowned photographer Justin Smith) continues to be played in their London store.

He is also in development of his feature ‘Lights Fade on Them’ which is scheduled to go into pre-production January 2009.

Alex Goddard studied video production at The Film and Television Institute and made his debut short film ‘Photograph’. His second short film ‘None of the Above’, through the FTI Member’s Production Group. He has continued his studies into film and televison and the AFTRS in Sydney.
