FTI graduates nominated at WA Screen Awards

The 17th West Australian Screen Awards feature a number of projects created by graduates and participants of professional development and training programs at FTI.
‘Bob, the Motivational Speaker’ which was created in the Certificate IV in Screen (Animation) has been nominated for Best Animation / Mixed Media Production in the Early Career section of the awards. The short film was animated by Roseline Lau, Craig Wilson and creator Daniel Pita.
Nominated alongside them is Pierce Davison’s Olympiad’s Lounge which was created as part of the FTI-ABC-Lotterywest Initative Animated Behaviour and FTI 3D Animation Instuctor Gareth Lockett’s short film Kitty wake Up!.
The second project created in the Certificate IV in Screen was Mitzi Drysdale’s Earnest Emu which has been nominated in the open craft section for the visual effects created by Stareh Harrision, Timothy Merks, Eddie Chew and Josh Weeks.
CADSA participant Reece Driscoll is nominated in the best secondary production with The Gardener.
The Best Animation/ mixed Media category sees a host of FTI alumni including Gareth Lockett with Kitty Wake Up!,
The Davision Brother’s Olympiad’s Lounge and CADSA participant Randall Lynton with Suicidal Baloon, which was also created for Animated Behaviour.
FTI GuestInstructor and Making Movies Roadshow team member, Devris Hassan is nominated for an early career award for Cinematography for his work on Chris Richard Scully’s short film Samseng.
Guest Instructor Alex Ringis has two nominations in the Music Score section for his work on the films Victim and Scoff.
The Early career section of the West Australian Screen Awards are judged by a panel independent to the Film and Television Institute.
