SPAA Fringe 2010 Speakers Announced
31 August 2010
On 22 and 23 October at Powerhouse Museum in Sydney, SPAA Fringe 2010 will gather some of Australia’s established and rising film and TV industry professionals to share their experiences and expertise. Offering insights, interactivity and creative direction, SPAA Fringe is the country’s most anticipated conference for filmmakers seeking lasting careers in this rapidly evolving industry.
Headlining the program as keynote speaker will be Cora Olson, Founding Partner and Producer at Present Pictures, US. As the producer genius behind the successfully self-distributed feature film Good Dick, which premiered at Sundance in 2008, Olson will show clips from her new film, The Perfect Family directed by Australian Anne Renton. Her presentation will also cover what made Good Dick such a success – from her ‘What Does Good Dick Mean To You’ campaign, to the intensive social networking strategy.
Also speaking at SPAA Fringe 2010 will be distribution specialist and Fringe patron Peter Broderick (Paradigm Consulting), Victoria Treole (Blue Cat Pictures), Gil Scrine (Gil Scrine Films), Michael Favelle (Odin’s Eye Entertainment), Hungry Beast ’s Elmo Keep and the production team behind Blame , David Lightfoot, Ryan Hodgson and Melissa Kelly.
The SPAA Fringe program offers insight, creative direction and practical ways to connect screen professionals via several channels including The Melting Pot, an online portal where projects can be posted; resources, investment and marketing opportunities tracked and collaborations formed. If you’re a producer looking for crew, a writer looking for a producer or a director with a creative vision to share, the Melting Pot is the perfect access point to find your dream team.
