FTI Announces Script Advice Days

14 April 2010

Organisation

Filmmakers now have the opportunity to receive script advice for their short films from an experienced industry professional in one on one meetings during FTI’s Script Advice Days.

The heavily subsidised script advice will allow filmmakers to explore what is working in the narrative and what isn’t; and to discuss ideas for improving their draft.

Once a month, filmmakers will be able to register to have their short film scripts (under 20 pages) read and assessed. Scripts will be read by the script assessor who will prepare discussion notes for a one hour face to face meeting.

James Bogle will advise for the next Script Advice Day to be held on Tuesday 4 May 2010.

FEE: $50 for FTI Members, $100 Non-Members (payable on the day before the meeting).

INCLUDES: Prior assessment of the script and then a one hour face to face meeting with an industry professional.

PROCESS: Scripts are emailed to Production Support, who forwards them onto the script assessor/editor. Your script will be read prior to the meeting and the assessor will come to the meeting prepared with notes for discussion. Sessions take place at a pre-scheduled date and time.

More info on James can be found here: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0091824/

Participation in Script Advice Days is offered on a first come first serve basis and places are limited. Register by emailing your script to yvette@fti.asn.au
