HyperLink

ScreenWest, the Film & Television Institute (FTI) and the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) have created a three-way partnership to expand ‘HyperLink’ digital production initiative for early career filmmakers in Western Australia.

The annual HyperLink scheme assists local creative Writer/Producer/Director teams to develop their production, storytelling, financial and project management skills to professional industry standards.

In addition to the $70,000 digital film production budget, the successful production team will also be offered places on a series of AFTRS masterclasses that will take place in WA throughout 2009, plus the opportunity for one-on-one mentoring with AFTRS representatives in screenwriting, digital production and direction.

Eligible projects are Dramas, Docu-dramas or Animations of up to 15 minutes in length. Applicants wishing to explore new forms including the use new digital technology, multi-platform distribution or interactive elements, are strongly encouraged to apply.

    Synopsis

    Toby yearns for a life like any other eight-year-old kid. But his mentally disabled father is a constant reminder that life for Toby, will never be normal.

    WATER is a film about a young boy’s struggle to accept his fears, his mentally disabled father and his possible future duty.
