Joint Initiatives

Deadly Yarns

Overview

An Indigenous Short Film Development and Production Initiative

Deadly Yarns is a joint Initiative of ScreenWest, ABC Television and the Film and Television Institute WA designed to showcase the work of Indigenous writers, directors and producers through the production of short minute films.

Building on the success of the first five series, Deadly Yarns 5 invites Indigenous filmmakers to explore their best, most personal, funniest or deadliest story in a documentary format.

The initiative aims to further develop the skills and opportunities for Indigenous writers, directors and producers by providing developmental and financial assistance. A budget of up to $35,000 will be allocated for each film.
