FTI CINEMA IN HIGH-DEFINITION

With HD production and delivery the new standard in filmmaking, high-definition playback is a must for all cinemas.

Continuing its commitment to promote technological development of the WA independent film community, FTI announces the arrival of a full HD projector and playback system to the cinema – the Panasonic PT-DZ12000.

Projecting 12,0000 ANSI lumens at 1920 × 1200 pixels across four lamps and three DLP chips, it is custom built for pristine display of Blu-Ray, RedOne, XDCam and other 1080p high-definition images, and also features an internal upscaling process for standard-definition content.

HD FIELD AUDIO RECORDER

The TASCAM HD-P2 portable high-definition field audio Recorder is the professional solution for challenging live and on-location sounding recording.

The HD-P2 features twin XLR inputs and records in stereo from 44.1kHz to 192kHz, at 16- or 24-bit, to Compact Flash media. Not only is Compact Flash absolutely silent, so no transport noise will show up on your recording, but the recorded audio is written directly as Broadcast WAVE files for immediate use in digital audio workflow. The unit includes a FireWire jack for fast transfer of files to your computer and it’s large, angled LCD is perfect for easily visible, efficient monitoring and operation in the field.

HD FIELD MONITOR

With high definition having become the standard across all film production, an on-set, HD monitoring system becomes critical. Available now for hire from FTI is the Ikan V8000 HDMI field monitor, providing a HD monitoring solution for your production needs.

The V8000HD LCD Monitor is a 7”, PAL / NTSC versatile, high definition LCD monitor in a wide screen form factor to match today’s demands for 16:9 and cinema-scope aspect ratios. It supports multiple HD / SD standards via HDMI, component, S-Video and composite connections, and also includes a loop thru for all inputs. It’s high resolution, 2000:1 contrast ratio and 65 degree viewing angle makes it perfect for shot composition / focusing needs, and it’s extremely lighweight, ideal for convenient, quick attachment to cameras, cranes and jibs.

Included with the Ikan V8000 is a mains power supply / charger and onboard battery attachment, providing up to 2hrs battery life.

Two new pieces of grip equipment are available for hire at FTI and will allow filmmakers to get the shot that gets the business – and the awards. Being particularly suited to small crews, these new pieces will add production value to your next shoot simply and quickly.

Available now is the CobraCrane II, a heavy duty dual bar jib arm for cameras weighing up to 8kg. The CobraCrane II can can go as low as ground level or reach up to 3m above the ground (on a 5 foot Tripod) to provide shots from an ant’s point of view all the way up to a giraffe’s.

Also for hire is the BTABO MK-II Camera Pipe Dolly with features that include:100kg load capacity; a lightweight aluminium construction and a 5m high-density PVC track.

The BTABO dolly and CobraCrane require only one person to set up and operate. The equipment can be used individually or together and open up a world of exciting oppurtunities for coverage.
