Screenings - External

The IF Award nominees are now online for public voting and there is a huge number of WA films in competition for the coveted Australian awards. There are five WA features nominated, ranging from box office success, Bran Nue Dae , to the low budget Indie comedy screening at Revelation Perth Film Festival, A Day at the Oasis . West Australian expats are also key creatives or producers of foreign shot, The Waiting City and Passengers .

Seventeen WA films are represented in the Short Film category, including OOMPF funded films, A Basement on the Hill , Enemy and Carlos Rules the World ; Deadly Yarns film, Mabuji ; Raw Nerve short, The Washing Line ; LINK funded films, The water was dark and it went forever down and Tinglewood ; as well as HyperLINK funded, Water .

Nick Shorts films, Backstage and The Paper Tale , are competing with LINK funded, Porcelain in the Short Animation category.

There are six WA documentaries to vote for; including the highly awarded LINK funded My Uncle Bluey , plus Deadly Yarns film and WA Screen Award winning documentary, My Nan & the Yandi .

The WA Screen Academy are well represented amongst the nominees with nine films in total across the Short Film and Documentary categories and there are several independently produced films also in the running.

FTI congratulates the filmmakers on their nominations and encourages all to vote. For those who need to catch up on their viewing, Revelation is screening A Day at the Oasis on 18 July, seven nominated shorts at Get Your Shorts On, 15 July; Rock ‘N Roll Mudwrestling on 11 and 15 July; and Backstage as part of the Animation Showcase on 13 July.
