It is the Fremantle Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Musical Director David Pye, who composed the Romanza variation and arranged the instrumental variation on the Tenor Aria from the mid 1800s Auber opera "Fra Diavolo".

The orchestra members and David Pye have generously given of their time and effort to assist a local project, "I Belong To The Shadows", a story based on the youngest British sniper to land at Normandie during WW2.

For those who like music of a thrash and crash nature, you need go no furthur, however if you are as the bard put it, "moved by concord of sweet sound", then you may find a pleasure in this recording.

To my ignorance, I did not know until this project came along and I had to do some fast learning and I was told, that Perth is actually a "go to" place for film scoring, with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and the West Australian Philharmonic Orchestra scoring international motion picture and television series productions.

For what it is worth, I think Western Australia still is the go to place for a great many things, acting talent, film-making talent and musical talent beng among them, even if I am not much talented myself.
