Hi Gang,
According to the so-called Wikipedia, Sooty and Sweep is no more and the rights are actually up for sale?
So the 21st Century thinks it's too old for a children's favourite that has entertained us Man and Boy for 7 or 8 generations?
The world is acold and miserable place when it has no room in its heart for a glove puppet and children's entertainer.
Boo!

I love Sooty and Sweep!
Sue the Panda - not so much.
I used to have an original 1960's Sweep pupet, I wonder where it's gotten to?

The Goodies episode in which all of the children's icons ran amok is among my favourites, and one of the best moments was when Sooty was on the news desk:
'What's that? You want to play your xylophone?'
If memory serves me correctly, Sooty then bludgoned the newsreader with the mallet - brilliant.
Showing my age? You betchya, but at least I ain't 35. ;)
