Hey, how's it going? It seems I have buckley's chance of getting a bite seeing as the "animation" topic is as dead as a doorknob but here is my proposal;
Are you an animator, do you love to animate? Wow me too! we have sooooooo much in common, yay let's be friends and make a movie together. Networking, that's what I'm getting at. I am told that animators need to network, and thanks to the wonders of the Internet this forum may just provide you the opportunity to network locally without having to talk to people in person! Oh isn't this a dream come true? So here is my story (dum dum);
I love making cartoons, drawn or animated just loooooove making them. Since I was twelve I constantly made these strange badly drawn cartoons. I drew them everywhere, even on my school work. It is because of this hobby that I discovered animation, it was love at first site. Alas though, my heart had been poisoned by an evil seductress called Computer Games. It took me some time to wrench myself from this poisoned apple and pursue my true love. But I succeeded and I hope, that once again, with years of study and practice we can be together again.
This topic is probably going to be a flop, but I hope you at least enjoyed my quirky rambling. If you are interested in animation please post... I will be watching and waiting.

modHallo Pertoonist!
I want to see some of these "strange badly drawn cartoons" lol. Have you got them up on youtube or a website?If you want other places to connect with animators you should check out the facebook and blog for the webseries we are producing here at FTI "Schoolies"

http://networkedblogs.com/p15554555plus keep your eye out for animation related events.. do you get the event newsletter? Obviously that would mean talking to people face to face but we must all make sacrifices! lol

wow, its a bit unfair to say, 'dead' its just that the animators are hitten away and not easy to see, like Gargamel trying to find the Smurf Village. its more likely to find them on the oohbitey.com forums, or newgrounds, or yout tube.
Animation is going on as Ebbie said, but since you won the prize for best human character in the Schoolies online competition, i take it you know about that :D
There are places to find People 'WAnimate' exists as a method of meeting animators, FTI itself, Dr Sketchy's Classes at Sugar Blue.
even Jafwa or other anime groups.Aside from that lots of animators are involved in the IGDA (independant game developers association) and PIGMI
Schoolies is in production Thursday to Saturday each week, drop by and say hi any time.
:D

Yea, bad choice of words sorry. That's what happens when you post things late at night. I don't really have any of my old cartoons on the internet. When I get the time I might put up some of my newer stuff but I'm always a bit worried about having things nicked. Cheers for the advice guys : )

Hi folks, might I suggest you join up at The Perth Film Network? With over 1000 members Australia wide, we cover anyone involved in media production, not just live-action crew. There are specialist groups for certain things- like school aged and tertiary ed filmmakers, Action filmmakers, Film Musicians, Makeup, Costume Art & FX Dept crew, Heck, if enough of you are interested, we will even start up a dedicated group for all the Animators, CGI, and VFX people!
