The Perth Actors Collective (PAC) have been running Screen Workshops for 15 years. These classes teach valuable filmmaking and acting skills to Perth's emerging film talent, and generally have groups of actors/directors making a short film as part of the course (the films would reflect the theme of the course).
In an effort to promote myself, and to hopefully get other PAC people to share of themselves as well, I am creating this post. Here you can find a few of my films, and I am hoping that other PAC attendees (actors and directors) will post links to their own films.
So! Here we have:
'Reflection'

(The workshop was 'horror/suspense/action'. I had a vague slasher story in mind and tried a theme with varying degrees of success.)'Domestic'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EN2RCRRDCsU
(Improvisation and one-shot was the name of the game here, and both provided unique challenges. The actors and I workshopped the story through improv, and we improvised the final performance.)'The Bail-Out'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xv0AIKjQ0PU
(This film was inspired by a 2-minute snippet of 'What Happens In Vegas...' that was shown in the Comedy workshop, and it turned out to be the most ambitious shoot/edit I have done to-date. I feel the first half works well, and I learned a lot from the whole process.)That's it. Please feel free to link your own PAC short films to this post.
Cheers. :)

Hey Gregg, Were these from SWS2? I just completed SWS1 late August myself and am looking forward to doing the next set of workshops once i have a bit more time on my hands. The second classes look like lots of fun!

Hi Michelle,
Yes, these films were from SWS2 workshops. I think the only SWS2 workshop left this year is the Tropfest one. It's a great opportunity for directors and actors to get a short film project together, but making a Tropfest film is the primary goal so there is little else to learn besides 'what kind of film does Tropfest like?'.
The other SWS2 workshops vary in their focus, but all offer the opportunity to network with Perth talent and make a themed short film. The comedy and improv workshops were my favourite, improv seeming to be especially good for both directors and actors.
Hope that helps. :)
Gregg

With the phrase "Your coffee will never taste the same", producers of "black gold" produced the film, a documentary that examines the international coffee trade and its connections with the farmers who grow it. The film was directed by Mark and Nick Francis.
The film examines the conditions of coffee farmers in the Oromia region, south and west of Ethiopia, the birthplace of coffee.
