If anyone has any local questions about this camera, I shall do my best to answer them.

There are two of these in Perth now.

Some scraps of local sample footage can be found here :-

The pre-prod promotional trailer for "Cadillac" a local feature project can be found at www.cadillacthemovie.com. This was shot on the SI2K system owned by Steven Rice who trades as Darling Films.

Looking forward to seeing this camera in action! very impressed with the result Slumdog had with this camera, i would say they used Cooke lenses?

As I understand things from published material, the "slumdog" configuration was a custom one put together by a rental house in Germany, originally intended mainly for the low-impact filming in public where a traditional looking "movie" camera would have drawn onlookers and spoiled the shots.

The original intent was to limit the camera to those low impact shots. They apparently ended up shooting about 70% on the SI2K.

The lenses we have used here so far have been either a Super16mm Zeiss kit or CP Ultra T* plus a few good Nikons. The budget so far has not permitted Cookes or the newer Super16mm superspeed lenses.

P+S Technik are coming out with a geared lens kit which Steven Rice aspires to buy in when affordable. The 3D kit has to come first.

Presently we are doubling the CP Ultra T* lenses to make up as close to a 3D matched pair as can be afforded.

There will be a SI2K shoot at a wildlife refuge for a US based feature worktitled "Seeking Closure". This will happen either on May 30th or May 31st.

This will not be an open set. It is also not a payer. We are doing this one pro-bono for imdb crew credit only. If anyone can offer assistance in continuity, shot logging and sound recording, helping to wrangle a big ARRI light, please let me know here with your email address for contact.

Slightly off-topic, if you have any outback footage of wild animals shot at 1280 x 720 @ 24P (25P would be okay) on JVC ProHD or Sony PMW-EX1 the makers of "Seeking Closure" may be interested. This is also not a payer, imdb crew credit only.

So far "rest-of-world" contributions to that project beyond the core footage shot in the US have apparently come from Brasil and South-East Asia. Footage from Western Australia desirably has to replicate early morning here or be capable of effects work to achieve that look.

For info on "Seeking Closure" look up Seeking Closure or Inner Glow Pictures on YouTube or www.exposureroom.com.
