Actors needed for funded short film a great little comedy, based on a true story, about a guy squatting at university.

Synopsis:
Chris’ success in his business is measured by the countless amount of times that he has taken risks and shortcuts throughout his life. However, this time he wasn’t so lucky. Chris gets laid off for falsifying his degree. Caught with his tail between his legs, Chris eventually looses everything he owns and finds himself living in the stairs of a University. After realizing the opportunity in front of him, Chris goes back into his old habits and devises a cunning plan to get back an authentic degree without doing the time.

After meeting Bill, a “resourceful” foreign student at a University, he shows Chris how to survive on campus without paying a cent and avoid getting caught. He shows him the every Wednesday week free dinner at the University Bar, the comfy pillow like beanbags in the Library and the public showers at the gym. Chris also realizes that the university is also teaching the subject that he supposedly graduated from “Bachelor of Commerce” and so decides to take the internship exam. During all this time, the head of security grows suspicious of the abnormal activities going around the campus and is always one step behind trying to discover this mystery squatter. It comes to a showdown when the Dean of the University, Alfred, and Joe the head of security are racing against the clock trying to find out who the culprit is, before he takes the internship exam and to their own horror graduates!

Squatter is the story of a man who… realizes that in a racing game of the Turtle versus the Rabbit it is wiser to be the Rat.

This will be a 20 minute short film. The actors will be unpaid but catering will be provided on set.

The shoot dates are February 9th-12th and 15th-17th.

The auditions will be held at Edith Cowan University (building and room to be advised) on the 14th and 15th of January.
