This ongoing course is an introduction to the basic principles of writing scripts for screen. Each class is broken into 3 parts :
10am-11.15am
Initially the lecturer will focus in on one of seven elements of scriptwriting technique : story character setting point of view plot dialogue script format
11.15am-12.15pm
Participants will undertake a writing exercise in class focusing on the element covered in part one, and workshop their ideas.
12.15pm – 1pm
Participants may ask the group to feed back on work they have developed outside of class. Participants wishing to do this are responsible for providing the class with copies of their writing to a maximum of 4 A4 pages in correct script format. Time constraints and number of submissions from participants will determine how many participants are able to workshop their scripts. If there are no script submissions on a given day, the first two parts of the morning will be lengthened to compensate.

This is an introductory course. No previous experience is required however participants should have a strong interest in scriptwriting and a willingness to give and receive feedback. Basic literacy and computer skills are essential. Please note lecturers are not able to give individual feedback on scripts outside of class time.

Class size: 6-12 participants
Dates : 10am – 1pm, every Saturday from 7th August – 27th November 2010
(School holidays excluded)
Class runs dependent on minimum of 6 confirmed participants.
Participants must confirm & pay by the Wednesday prior to class.
Participants may join the class on any given week.

Cost : $65 non-members / $45 members (per session).
