December 1969 – The Rolling Stones decide to give something back to the people. They arrange a free concert at Altamont Speedway, North Carolina and arrange for the Hell’s Angels to provide security. When 30,000 members of the Love Genreation collide with a few dozen Hell’s Angels, a decade’s dreams are transformed to disillusionment. Gimme Shelter provides not only some of the best concert footage of the time, we also see The Stones watch the footage and reflect.
