Tonight at FTI we are holding a seminar called 'What are all these things my teenager does?' We decided to create this seminar after we noticed that everytime we spoke about new media to high school students we were often be asked by a lone parent if there was a similar seminar just for parents.

We thought we would just make a post that encapsulates some of the items that we will be refering to during the presentation and provide a central place for links to the content we will be looking at.

It’s no secret that advertising is what drives commercial television networks and in the world of PVRs and YouTube this revenue stream is under threat. ADVERTISING AGE has two interesting articles that suggest solutions to the challenge. Firstly in the US the CW network is introducing 10 second advertisements. Over at Viacom they suggest making less advertisement in each break but increase the number of breaks or putting content within the ad breaks.
