FTI's Yvette Coyne went to the set of Little Boxes on Friday January 18th to check how things were going. It was the last set-up, on the last day, and as all was going to schedule, she found the atmosphere on set was calm, cool and collected. She arrived when the steadycam was being set-up for a circular shot around two actors.
Director Paul Komadina said the shoot had gone very smoothly over the past few days. Perhaps this was due to the recent directing experience he had completing a block of the television series Trapped as well as his self-funded, low-budget feature The Director's Cut. Little Boxes' producer, Georgina Isles' hs had a recent stint as a production assistant on The Circuit (series 2) - both were shot in Broome last year.
Little Boxes is a LINK-funded short. The project's one-liner - "To be a real artist you must be crazy; unfortunately for Maya, she is saner than everyone she knows.
FTI Production Support is eagerly awaiting to see the rough cut of Little Boxes soon.
Production Support likes Thursday. It's the day that all the funding deadlines fall due. And it's the day we run most of our Funding Information Sessions (except one - the observant among you might be able to pick it ).

The Town of Vincent short film screening was held last night at Banks Reserve. It was a great family event with kids and mums bopping along to the band. There were at least 150 people there to see the local films. I could hear some people say they recognised streets and landmarks in some of the films - most notably the red doors outside Luna cinemas in "The Blind Daters".
A five minute burst of rain before the films sent everyone running for cover, but the brave persevered on and were delighted with the three short films, and community film on Beehive Industries. The great aussie film The Castle was also screened after the shorts.
Well done to everyone involved in the films and the Town of Vincent for holding such a great event.

Here at FTI's Production Support, we love it when film makers get out and DYI for no or low budget. We also love Zombies... so when I heard about a no budget feature seeking zombies, of course my ears pricked up!
If you are keen to be a part of it - and I know from the Zombie Walk held last year that there are some die hard Zombie fans in Perth - then this could be for you!
Producer of the feature "I am Bish" is seeking volunteer zombies to be extras in the film.
Check out http://www.casemovie.com/iambish.html for details and get your Zombie on!
