Board
The FTI board usually meet on the fourth Thursday of every month and the AGM is held annually in mid April. If you have any issues you would like to bring to the attention of the board please address correspondence to FTI General Manager, Murray Reynish and FTI Chair, Lisa Bradock c/- FTI.

Lisa Bradock
Chair
Lisa Bradock (Chair) was first elected to the Board at the 1999 AGM and was re-elected for a sixth two-year term at the 2009 AGM. She was first elected Chair in October 2000 and has retained that position since then as well as being a member of the Board Executive/ Finance Committee and a Director of FTI’s film production company, Excalibur Productions.
Lisa has had many years’ experience of FTI both as an employee and a Board member and brings to the Board a variety of skills and experiences, particularly relating to strategic business and people management. She has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from UWA and an employment background in a range of industry areas across the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.
Lisa is currently employed in the public sector as the manager of project governance for the Fiona Stanley Hospital project, the largest public hospital construction project in Western Australia’s history. Prior to this, Lisa was employed as chief executive officer of Netball WA for four and a half years, following a three-year stint as general manager of the Junior Soccer Association of Western Australia. She is also a member of the board of the WA Sports Federation and Women’s Golf WA, both not-for-profit associations with similar structures and issues to those of the FTI.

Marjolein Towler
Deputy Chair
Marjolein Towler (Deputy Chair) has been an FTI member since 1989 and served a two-year term on the FTI Board in the early 1990’s. At the AGM in June 2000 she was again elected to the FTI Board and has held the positions of Deputy Chair as well as being a member of the Board Executive/Finance Committee since then. She was re-elected for a sixth term at the April 2010 AGM.
23 years ago Marjolein established her own IT consultancy company, Consultas, to deliver multimedia production, IT project management, and business process analysis services. She is a qualified Information Designer, a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), and a Certified Process Professional Master (CPPM) with extensive experience in the development of business and project management systems. In addition, Marjolein’s skills include facilitation, and teaching & training development including delivery.
Marjolein is the Chair of Women are I.T. WA (WITWA), a not for profit networking organisation that encourages female participation in the IT sector. She is a member by invitation of the Social Policy Committee at the Chamber of Commerce & Industry WA (CCI) as well as a member of CCI’s Services Industry Forum (which includes the arts). Marjolein brings to the Board her extensive experience of FTI’s activities and growth during the past decade as well as her wide range of business and project management skills.

Jeremy Emms
Director
Jeremy Emms was appointed to the Board in January 2007 and has been reappointed annually since then – the latest following the April 2010 AGM. Jeremy was born in Scarborough, England, and obtained a degree in Geography at Leicester University – where he spent too much time reading the Antipode Journal – Geographical Radicalism. He worked for twelve years in sales and marketing for two major international communications groups before migrating to Australia in 1999. Since moving to WA he has worked in direct marketing, traditional advertising and online marketing as an Account Director working with a number of state and national clients. Jeremy established his own business in 2003 to bring different products and business solutions into Australasia.
Currently, Jeremy is working with Pindar, a global publishing services business, developing the Asia – Pacific market for traditional and digital book production. Emerging media is definitely becoming converging media as publishers look to video content to support their changing business models. His other interests involve participation in a number of voluntary educational and sporting support organisations. He became acquainted with FTI through friends’ participation and personal observation and uses his networks and thinking to help where and when he can.

Annabel Hay
Director
Annabel Hay was appointed to the Board for a one year term with effect from 22 April 2010. She graduated with double degrees of Bachelor of Laws (Honours) / Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Notre Dame University, Fremantle in 2007. Prior to that Annabel participated in other tertiary studies in Budapest and London.
Annabel’s career has predominantly been in the legal sector having worked as an Articled Clerk / Solicitor for Jackson McDonald Solicitors since 2009 until recently when she made a career change to take on a marketing based role as a Strategic Planner for Block Branding. Annabel considers that she can use her legal and marketing experiences coupled with her enthusiasm to help contribute towards the affairs of FTI into the future.

Chris James
Director
Chris James was appointed to the FTI Board on 22 October 2009 to fill a casual vacancy. He stood for election at the April 2010 AGM and was elected for a two-year term. Chris was part of FTI’s former Members’ Production Group for several years performing a variety of roles, including producing, writing, sound recording and acting. Chris has been involved in several short film projects over the past four years producing and co-writing Blind and Asphalt & Lace, which were both funded through FTI’s 50/50 initiative. Blind is still in post-production whilst Asphalt & Lace was aired at the Action on Film Festival 2009 in Pasadena, California. He was also involved in the short film Chess, a Raw Nerve funded production which won the People’s Choice award at the Melbourne Short Film Festival 2007 and is now a part of the Memory Lane database in the Australian Centre of Moving Image.
Chris has a background in IT working as a web developer and support officer, but has recently returned to university to study law. He has attained a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in IT. He has also participated in a conservation project in Costa Rica with International Student Volunteers, protecting critically endangered turtles and has been a member of the Wilderness Society’s Action Group. Chris looks forward to bringing his energy, experiences and resourcefulness to the Board.

Cassie Rowe
Director
Cassie Rowe has served on the FTI Board since January 2007 and was elected for a further two-year term at the April 2010 AGM. She graduated in FTI’s Screenwriting Diploma in December 2006. Cassie’s present employment is a full time position as Assistant State Secretary for the Australian Labor Party (WA Branch). Previously she was employment with Police & Nurses Financial Planning as a Financial Planner and with the Bendigo Bank financial planning division, in a highly technical role. In addition, she has worked in Parliament House in Canberra with the then Shadow Minister for Finance, Senator Stephen Conroy.
Cassie’s tertiary qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts at Melbourne University, as well as a Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) at the Securities Institute of Australia and an Advanced Diploma of Finance. She is very passionate about the Film and Television industry in Australia, in particular, the preservation and representation of our culture via these mediums going forward.
Cassie looks forward to continuing to make a valuable contribution to the FTI as a Board member and ensure that the Institute continues in its endeavours to promote a local industry.

David Smith
Director
David Smith has served as a director on the FTI Board since January 2007 and was elected for a second two-year term at the 2009 Annual General Meeting. David holds degrees in Law and Commerce (with a double major in Accounting and Finance) from the University of Western Australia, is admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia and since June 2007 has been employed as a corporate lawyer in the Perth Central Business District. Prior to commencing legal practice David was employed as an Academic at Curtin University’s Business Law School.
In November 2006 David also completed a Graduate Diploma in Film and Television at Curtin University and in 2007/2008 co-produced his first dramatic short film, Legacy (with the support of FTI’s LINK Production Initiative). Legacy has screened at various international film festivals (including the Oscar-accredited Flickerfest International Short Film Festival) and won the awards for Best Director and Best Drama at the 22nd WA Screen Awards in March 2009.
David brings to the Board a broad range of legal, accounting, financial, educational, film production, entrepreneurial and management experience and is looking forward to applying these skills to help the Institute further develop and prosper in the future.

Graeme Sward
Chief Executive Officer
(Chief Executive Officer) was appointed as a voting member of the Board when he commenced employment as CEO during September 1999. He is a member of the Board Executive/Finance Committee and also the FTI Alumni Committee.
Graeme has had extensive experience in the broadcasting industry as a Director, Producer and Executive Director, starting his career in 1974. Immediately prior to joining FTI he was a contract Executive Producer for the ABC in Perth and also served for a period on the FTI Board. Graeme is a Director of Excalibur Productions (FTI’s production company) and he served as a Director of ScreenWest for three years from 2001 until 2004. Graeme was also the series Director of the Mary G Show 2, which screened on SBS Television early in 2002 and he had an involvement for a period as a Director of Access 31 Community Television. He is passionate about FTI and what it represents and has seen the organisation grow and expand under his direction.

James Turnbull
Director
James Turnbull was appointed to the FTI Board in September 2008 and has been reappointed annually since then, the latest following the April 2010 AGM. James, who grew up and lives in the Fremantle area, holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours in Finance from the University of Western Australia, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Financial Services Institute of Australasia and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder.
James is currently a Director of PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Mergers and Acquisitions team that provide corporate advice in relation to business sales, acquisitions, capital raisings and corporate restructures. James has over 9 years experience in the investment banking industry, including 12 months working in London in 2007, and brings a range of accounting, financial, legal and managerial capabilities to the FTI board.
